Seamus’ voice has been compared to Jim Morrison and Van Morrison. But not James Morrison. And not Morrisey either. None of that really matters because the boy can sing! Smooth and sophisticated is one way to describe him but Seamus can really wail the blues and is well able to bring the grit. He is a sound recording nut and spends hours in front of his computer producing his own electronic music as well as film and cinematic scores.
When he is not playing with his knobs, Seamus loves to dance. Ballet and tap. He nearly made it to the Bolshoi Ballet in his teens but the pressure got the better of him. The 2010 film, “Black Swan” is based on his remarkable story. I think we all agree Natalie Portman does a stunning job as the young Seamus.

Heavily influenced by blues greats such as Rory Gallagher and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Moss uses his trusty Fender Stratocaster to great effect when playing live with Mudcat. He has played extensively throughout Ireland and also in England, Spain and France. Although Moss is an accomplished guitar player, Do NOT ask him to sing. It’s not worth the pain.
In fact, playing guitar is the only thing that Moss can competently do. When he is not playing with Mudcat, Moss enjoys battling his many personality disorders and can often be found walking around the streets of Cork City in a helpless daze. It is advisable not to approach him when he is having one of his “moments”.

Neil loves the bass. Simple as that. Along with Steve on drums, he uses his bass to create a funky undercurrent that is integral to the Mudcat sound. Neil is a huge blues fan and loves the bass playing of James Jamerson and Willie Dixon. Neil’s second love is film. He has a DVD collection as big as your face and sometimes goes AWOL for weeks while watching films on his groovy film projector, man.
Not many people know this but Neil is also the greatest person who ever lived. If he had his way those damn suits would play by his rules and we would all live in a dystopian nightmare where Neil ruled with an iron fist. No mercy would be given to those who failed to fall in line and we would all shudder at the might of “El Beas”!!

Steve is our resident drum guru. We’ve often thought about replacing him with the Drum Machine 2000 but the man plays faster and more accurate than any machine ever built. He has been known to challenge metronomes to time-keeping contests. And win. Steve also runs his own home-based recording studio, Creature Studios.
Not content playing with Mudcat only, Steve likes to stretch his musical horizons and plays with several other local bands. ($$$ Cha-Ching!! $$$) He is available to drum for weddings and box socials. (Funerals cost extra). In fact, Steve is equally at home playing with a conservative right-wing country ballad band as he is keeping the beat at your local gay pride parade. But only if the price is right…
